What began out as a solemn event on an Australian pier instantly took a flip for the dramatic.
Raden Soemawinata, was at Brighton Pier in Melbourne that day along with his household, to scatter his grandmother’s ashes. Bibi, a Maltese-Shih Tzu combine, was strolling in the identical space along with his proprietor, Sue Drummond, when winds of round 60 mph blew him proper off the pier.

Fearing for her personal security, all Sue might do was stand there and watch Bibi battle in opposition to the surging waves.
“I thought he was going to sink and then maybe I wouldn’t be able to find him,” Drummond mentioned, “but I didn’t really want to hop in the water either because I wasn’t quite sure if I could make it to shore with a struggling dog.”
That’s when Soemawinata jumped into motion.

Taking off his pants – “I’m a part-time model, so getting into my jocks isn’t so different to what I do for work” – he climbed down the concrete pier and dove into the water after the struggling pup and ferried him again to security.
