DURBAN – Days earlier than South Africa marks 16 days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children, a video of a pregnant Durban lady being assaulted went viral.
The one-minute and 52-second video displaying an altercation involving two ladies and a person in uMhlanga was extensively shared this week.
In it, one alleges she’s pregnant with the person’s baby, in entrance of the opposite lady, allegedly his different lover.
An extramarital affair is claimed.
After an argument, the pregnant lady tells the person: “Look at you. You can’t support your child. You cannot accept I’m pregnant with your child and everybody should know.”
Following her feedback, in the direction of the top of the clip, the person punches the pregnant lady constantly.
Since the video went viral, there was intensified calls from the general public on social media for the person to face the results of his actions.
Several memes revealing the person’s id, with captions associated to the incident, have additionally circulated on social media.
On the alleged perpetrator’s Facebook web page, he stated this week he wish to thank the one who recorded the video of the incident and posted it on social media because it had made him well-known.
His feedback sparked additional public outrage.
Prenisha Pather commented on Facebook: “To abuse a pregnant woman in public is a serious offence. Too many women are abused in their own homes and choose to be quiet. #StopWomenAbuse”.
Another Facebook consumer, Kuraisha Chetty, stated the person was “disgraceful”.
“No respect for women and she’s pregnant. As for the other woman, she has no self-respect. I just pray the baby is okay. He should be locked up.”
On the Sunday Tribune Herald’s Facebook web page, Levi Singh stated harder sentences and penalties had been urgently wanted.
