Four-year-old Jabez Oates was so excited to start kindergarten at Barber’s Hill Kindergarten Center. The little boy from Mont Belvieu, Texas, is sensible, energetic, and smitten by studying.

Jabez liked his first two days of faculty. But when his mother Jessica introduced him on the third day, directors refused to let him in.

They stated he was not allowed at school due to the “inappropriate” size of his brown hair. The faculty’s coverage requires boys’ hair to be above the eyes, ears, and neck, however the rule doesn’t apply to ladies.

“He’s never had a haircut,” Jessica says. “It’s just kind of part of his identity.”

Jessica says she was informed two issues: firstly, she’d want a letter citing a non secular or cultural exception. And secondly, they have been to not come again till Jabez’s hair was lower.

She tried placing his hair in a bun, nevertheless it nonetheless wasn’t acceptable.
