Most people think of iconic movie characters like Dr. Hannibal Lecter when they hear the name Sir Anthony Hopkins. The veteran actor has racked up numerous awards throughout his long career, including an Academy Award, yet many don’t realize that he started off as a musician.

Over 50 years ago, Hopkins composed a piece called “And The Waltz Goes On.” He never heard the song performed… until 2011 when Dutch violinist André Rieu teamed up with the Johann Strauss Orchestra in Vienna, Austria, to play it for him!

“I’ve been composing music all my life and if I’d been clever enough at school I would like to have gone to music college,” he told The Guardian. “As it was I had to settle for being an actor.”
