We Requested, You Answered: Does Your Child Have an Uncommon "Lovey"? – The Mother Beat

So snuggly.

When our daughter was three years previous, she developed a wierd bedtime routine, whereby she refused to fall asleep with out making use of ChapStick — in her mattress — a number of occasions.  I’ve even discovered her clutching the tube of lip balm to her chest whereas asleep, as visions of hydrated lips apparently danced in her head.

Hopeful that she wasn’t the one child with a, um, quirky “lovey,” I requested these of you following us on Fb if any of your youngsters had a equally curious attachment.   And boy, oh boy, did you ever ship.  Listed here are ten of the funniest:

10. My son received’t go wherever and not using a dry-erase marker and a spoon. –-Freya

9. My boy received’t sleep with out his “smelly toy,” which is a finger puppet snail with string antennae that should be tucked between his toes!! –Emma

eight. My 4yo will need to have a “nest”…he arranges a number of blankets & pillows round himself.  There have to be no openings or areas between every blanket/pillow. –Kristi

7. My son used to sleep with a Donkey (from Shrek)-shaped onerous plastic bubble bathtub container. –Claire

6. I completely HAVE to learn “Mr. Brown can moo, are you able to?” earlier than bedtime or my 18-month-old could have a tricky time going to sleep. I don’t know why it’s his favourite ebook…however I hate that @#$% Mr. Brown now. –Kelsey

5. A paper towel tube that she adorned in Sunday College. And when she is stalling, “Only a couple extra issues, mommy!” leading to her mattress stuffed with stuff. –Cory

four. I clip coupons so now my son loves them, and after they expire I give them to him and he sleeps in mattress with them. –Jade

three. My greatest pal’s son has “taggies,” which is any stiff receipt…IKEA ones are the perfect. Lengthy, stiff, he licks them, rolls them between his fingers, stuffs them in his ears, holds both facet and falls asleep together with his head propped up by them, licks and sticks them to his face…. –Jennifer

2. My daughter had burpees (an unused fabric diaper) that she needed to sleep with till she was about 5.  She had an elaborate routine the place she would use the nook of the material and gently hint it round her face and ears. How’s that for bizarre? –Teresa
